Grading Policy

• The TTV Premier League uses Ratings Central Points as the basis and then grades numerically based on the team’s average.
• Final Team Averages: Division 1     1750    Division 2    1500     Division 3    1350     Division 4     1200     Division 5     1100     Division 6     1000     Division 7     900

• After the success in 2019, Division 1 will continue to be run under the 'hosted seeded individuals system'. Hence individual entries are only accepted. A 'soft' cut-off of 1500 Ratings Central Points will apply. This means that if your current rating puts you within 1 standard deviation (<75) of or very, very close to 1500 points, your entry will be accepted. E.g. 1470±35 is accepted but 1380±125 is not accepted. 1435±60 has a chance of being accepted but 1460±35 would be given preference.

• Similar to a standard seeded individual system. However, team entries of players all from the same club may be accepted if the Competition Manager, in conjunction with the Pennant Committee, deems the team to be of an appropriate standard. All players will be graded and allocated to a team hosted by Albert Park, Maccabi, or St Kilda. In addition, Albert Park, Maccabi & St Kilda Cricket players are guaranteed to play for their club e.g. Maccabi players won’t play for Albert Park, etc.

• However, if you produce a team consisting of the same club/affiliate registered players that is appropriate for Division 1, the Competition Manager & The Pennant Committee reserve the right to waive the above two requirements provided it does not contravene any of the additional requirements below.

• You can get a sense of your standard if you search your name on Ratings Central if you cannot find your name or have not played matches in Victoria, it might mean that you do not have a rating and will need to attend at least 1 Grading Night.

• Whilst the TTV Premier League aims to allocate you/your team to the correct Division, there may be instances where this is not always accurate (i.e. suggested team average differs from actual cut-offs).

• If we have an influx or shortage of teams, this could push teams up or down depending on their team’s average and division structure. Hence we suggest that you submit a preliminary entry so that you have an opportunity to appeal if your allocation is incorrect when the draft fixtures are released.
• Note: if your team’s average does not reflect the required standard of the division you are applying for, your application to play in that grade may be rejected and thus your team will be allocated to another division. If no preliminary entry is submitted, any appeal to move between divisions may be rejected due to the limitations of the fixture.
• However, if a team’s composition cannot be graded in a way that does not give it a severe unfair advantage to the majority of a division, the Competition Manager in conjunction with the Pennant Committee reserves the right to reject a team's application on the basis of fairness and the spirit of the competition.
• New Players without Ratings Central playing history must attend the grading nights and must receive a grade from Yugandh Zende, Brian Berry, or Claire Montgomery.
