Victoria Gets Locked Down - Dandenong Open Postponed

Published Fri 12 Feb 2021

It is with great disappointment that TTV needs to officially announce the postponement of the Dandenong Senior and Junior Open Tournaments that were set to take place this weekend at the Greater Dandenong TTA.

Due to the recent outbreak of COVID-19 connected to the Holiday Inn and Melbourne Airport cases, Victoria has been placed into a Stage 4 lockdown with a 5km radius, mandatory masks and just four essential reasons to leave home have been reintroduced from 11:59pm Friday 12 February to 11:59pm Wednesday 17 February 2021.

The four reasons for you to leave home are:

  1. shopping for essential goods or services
  2. work or study if you can’t from home
  3. seeking or giving care
  4. for exercise for two hours per day

Full details on the restrictions can be found on the DHHS website

We understand this is a very disappointing situation, especially as this weekend was supposed to be the first tournament back for many of our Senior and Junior players. We want to assure all members that we are working to ensure these tournaments will take place after a 2-week postponement, on the weekend of February 27 and 28.

The health and safety of all our members and the general public of Victoria is the most important thing at this stage and we would urge everyone to be patient and continue the great work you have all been doing with social distancing and following the State Government guidelines.
