Vale Dr. Ronald Bayly
Published Fri 09 Jul 2021
This week TTV was given the sad news that former Victorian President and Life Member Dr. Ronald Bayly passed away.
We would like to extend our sincere condolences to the Bayly family for their loss as well as all of Ron’s extended family and friends.
Ron was majorly influential in the pre-Olympic era of table tennis in Victoria and Australia and was involved in the organising of the 1968 SEAPATT tournament in Melbourne where many of Australia’s most dedicated volunteers got their first taste of volunteering and officiating.
Dr. Bayly served on multiple VTTA committees and sub committees before serving as President for ten years between 1980-1990.
His wonderful contributions to the sport of table tennis and to TTV will be fondly remembered by the family, friends and players that knew him.
