TTV is delighted to announce the appointment of two new Directors, Molina Asthana, and Dan Hamer, who were officially welcomed to the TTV Board at Thursday’s meeting.

The pair bring a wide range of knowledge and experience to the organisation and represent a strong response to the skillset matrix utilised by the Nominations Committee to ensure TTV’s Board possesses the requisite blend of collective knowledge and experience required of a contemporary Board.

Molina Asthana is a lawyer who works for Swarup Asthana Lawyers and Business Advisors with a Master of Commercial Law, a Bachelor of Commerce and a Diploma in Corporate Laws and Management.

Born in India, Molina brings a very wide range of board experience to TTV, currently or previously serving as a board member or ambassador for multiple organisations including, Good Shepherd Australia New Zealand, Law Institute of Victoria, AMES Australia, Gymnastics Victoria, Graduate House of the University of Melbourne, Cricket Australia, Commonwealth Games Australia, Australian Centre for Human Rights and Health, and more.

Molina is also the founder ofMulticultural Women in Sport’ - an organisation which aims to create pathways for increased participation of women from multicultural backgrounds in sport for their empowerment, their general well-being, and a sense of belonging to the community. Through her organisation she has worked closely and built strong relationships with many sporting organisations including AFL (National, Victoria and various clubs), Cricket Australia, Netball Australia, Melbourne City Football Club, Table Tennis Australia, Basketball Victoria, and others, and has advised them on their engagement policies with new and emerging communities.

Joining Molina will be Dan Hamer who has a Bachelor of Business in Sport Management from Deakin University, and considerable commercial development, stakeholder management and business experience.

Dan is currently the Commercial Development Manager at the Hawthorn Football Club where he drives new commercial outcomes. His role largely involves new partnerships and digital sponsorship, while developing proposals and supporting collateral and identifying new markets. Prior to this he also worked in similar roles at the North Melbourne Football Club and the Seven Network, providing him with invaluable knowledge and experience across the sector.

TTV CEO Ritchie Hinton is eager to work with both Molina and Dan, and is keen to see the positive impact their skills and experience will have on the TTV Board.

“The Board Directors are a critical resource to help TTV set and achieve its strategic goals.

Intrinsic to TTV’s success is a widely skilled set of Directors, with a broad range of skills and experiences.

The appointment of Molina and Dan represents the addition of particular expertise in areas including diversity and inclusion, law, and the commercial development of sporting assets which will be of significant benefit to TTV.”

Molina joins the Board as an Appointed Director with a term until September 2024, whilst Dan’s appointment via casual vacancy into an Elected Director position will take him to the AGM in 2022 when he will be eligible for re-election.

The TTV Board now has 8 Directors, with one vacancy to be advertised to the table tennis community shortly.
