TTV's 2023 Event Calendar: Vic Open and The Country Championships Are Heading to Traralgon

Published Wed 12 Oct 2022

Table Tennis Victoria is excited to release the official 2023 Event Calendar to the TTV community.

Headlining the calendar are two of our most important State Tournament Circuit events, the Victorian Open competitions, and the Country Championships, being held at the Gippsland Regional Indoor Sports Stadium (GRISS) in Traralgon.

With capacity to host up to 60 table tennis courts for both of these events, 2023 will be the first of an eight-year partnership seeing the Country Championships and the Victorian Open Veterans competitions held at GRISS thanks to support from Latrobe City Council and Destination Gippsland.

After undergoing an upgrade to modernise and expand the stadium in 2020, the venue has hosted many high-profile sporting and events and we are delighted to add table tennis to the mix.

Here is a video of the GRISS venue.

Table Tennis Victoria also want to highlight that the Metro Championships will be played the weekend after the Country Championships which will ensure these two events are both given the prominence they deserve and reduce the burden on our fantastic event volunteers.

We also encourage the community to put Saturday 1 April 2023 in your calendar for the Table Tennis Victoria AGM and an Awards Presentation Soiree.

We look forward to another great year of State Tournament Circuit events and can confirm that the number of tournaments for State Team eligibility in 2023 will be 5 tournaments across Juniors, Seniors and Veterans players and 2 for Para players.

The full calendar can be found on the TTV website - State Tournament Circuit webpage.
