We are very excited to finally share the fantastic news that Gen Dohrmann (née Simmons) will be joining Table Tennis Victoria as our new Chief Executive Officer starting February 7 2022.
Gen comes to TTV after five years with Gymnastics Victoria where she held roles as Communications Manager, General Manager – Marketing and Communications, and General Manager – Marketing and Industry Development.
Throughout her time at Gymnastics Victoria, she was responsible for the development and implementation of all marketing and communications strategies as well as their commercial strategy, management of the website, EDM’s and social media, marketing and communications support for local clubs, management of corporate events as well as the management of commercial partnerships and new business opportunities.
Prior to her time at Gymnastics Victoria Gen worked at the Melbourne Rebels as their Senior Marketing and Communications Associate, she was previously a Social Media Strategist for Racing.com, and a Digital Communications Manager at Netball Australia, and the ANZ Championship.
We are very eager to utilise all of Gen’s previous experience, in particular, her vast range of marketing and communications knowledge which we are sure will go a long way to meeting the goals set out in the profile pillar of TTV’s strategic plan ‘Our Future Now’ which reaches its final year in 2022.
“I am really excited to take up the role of CEO of Table Tennis Victoria,” expressed Gen.
“As an inclusive sport that almost everyone in Victoria is familiar with - having played in local competitions, school sports, or in the garage - I look forward to helping the sport grow and rebuild in the wake of COVID.
“I look forward to meeting everyone from the Table Tennis Victoria community as well as across the country, as we connect more people in Victoria with more forms of Table Tennis, more often.
“With a background working in a team, state, and national sporting organisations as well as at Board level, I know there is plenty I can bring to this role and believe it is the perfect time to get Victorians moving and engaged with table tennis.” She said.
Equally as excited to see her hit the ground running is TTV Chair Daniel Moloney who said, “Gen is an outstanding choice, bringing a wealth of experience and a proven track record in both marketing and participation.
“This appointment marks an exciting new chapter for TTV and the Board as we are looking forward to working with Gen to ensure TTV continues to grow participation, meeting the needs of our affiliates, and continuing to deliver on our strategic plan.” He added.
