Table Tennis Victoria is delighted to let our community know that our Events & Clubs Officer, Claire Montgomery, will be taking up an exciting new role with Table Tennis Australia as National Participation Development Coordinator.

Claire has held the position of Events & Clubs Officer with Table Tennis Victoria since February 2018 and has developed a range of significant processes, policies and programs to assist with the administration and growth of the table tennis across the state.

Prior to becoming a staff member, Claire was a member of the Table Tennis Victoria Board and held several committee roles drawing on her expertise in the sport of table tennis thanks to her experience as a national player, a TTA Level 2 Coach & ITTF Level 1 Coach.

Claire also previously served on the Table Tennis Australia Board and in 2020 she was the recipient of the Table Tennis Australia Volunteer of the Year Award: 25 Years of Service.

While Table Tennis Victoria is sad to see Claire move on, CEO Gen Dohrmann looks forward to seeing Claire’s career progress with Table Tennis Australia.

“Claire has been an invaluable resource to Table Tennis Victoria for a very long time. We can’t wait to see many of the great initiatives that Claire has developed here in Victoria rolling out nationally,” said Dohrmann.

Claire says, “I absolutely love my job and had envisaged happily staying right here for the next few decades, but I feel quite excited that I have the opportunity to now move into a position with TTA that I can bring what I do out past the Victorian borders and work with every club and member in the whole of Australia.”

Given the great amount of knowledge Claire has of operations at Table Tennis Victoria, there will be a transition period of employment with Claire working part-time for Table Tennis Victoria and part-time for Table Tennis Australia until the end of 2022.

Table Tennis Victoria are in the process of developing our 2023-2026 Strategic Plan and will assess what staff capabilities are required for the future of the sport before advertising for a replacement.

Table Tennis Victoria thanks Claire for her huge contribution to organisation and looks forward to working with her in her new role with Table Tennis Australia.

Please note that from Monday 12 September, Claire will be working for Table Tennis Victoria from 9am until 1pm each weekday.
