Table Tennis Victoria are excited to announce the TTV Premier League will be continuing at Melbourne Sports Centres at Albert Park in 2023. As one of Victoria’s longest running pennant competitions, TTV are thrilled to see the Premier League continue under new management.
Albert Park Table Tennis, with support from the Maccabi and St Kilda Cricket Table Tennis Club’s, will be taking over the running of the TTV Premier League from 2023 onwards.
A Working Group of representatives from APTT, MTTC and SKCTTC will work on improving and enhancing the Premier League going forward as well as work on securing sponsorship funding to cover prize money and live streaming in the future.
“We are looking forward to working with Maccabi and St Kilda Cricket to continue the tradition of Premier League in 2023,” said Acting Albert Park President, Claire Montgomery.
“The Premier League has been one of the best quality pennants in Victoria and we’re eager and hopeful to see it improve and grow in the years to come.”
TTV CEO Gen Dohrmann is thrilled to see the competition continue.
“We know how important TTV Premier League is to members of our community who play around the inner city area of Melbourne. We have full faith Albert Park Table Tennis Association will be able to grow the competition to new heights,” said Gen.
A page has been set up on the APTT website to encourage smaller donations from long time players who wish to see the competition thrive. Any donations received will go to covering basic expenses so that the budgeted money can be redirected into prize money. You can check out more information here.
APTT will also be seeking to pay a person on a casual basis to run the competition including the marketing, entries, grading, draws, results, fill-ins and general management of the competition on an initial rate of $150/week for the first season ($2,100), with the intention to negotiate upwards as the competition grows.
