Published Sat 14 Sep 2019

TTV High Performance (HP) program resumes this Wednesday the 18th of September and will go for 12 weeks of training ahead of Christmas.

An additional Sunday afternoon session for Junior members will run on Sunday the 29th of September.

TTV re-launched its HP program in May 2019 for existing and emerging state level representatives.

The re-vitalized TTV HP program at MSAC has been identified as a high priority initiative which addresses both the Profile and Performance strategic objectives of the 2019-22 plan.

Inclusion of the National Squad training (including National Squad coaches) with State training session time slot (Wednesday evening).

Personal Trainer and high-quality Table Tennis coach, Peter Tretinik will be the coaching lead at the program.

Tretinik will oversee both the senior and junior sessions and manage a revised panel of assistant coaches who will add their own unique skill sets to the sessions.

He is specially interested in incorporating MSAC’s state-of-the-art facilities into the State table tennis training program.

The state-of-the-art MSAC fitness facilities include:

  • Swim Analysis Lab (aquatic resistance training in a 6-lane pool with invidividual controls
  • Multi-purpose exercise room for group Personal Training near Swim Analysis Lab
  • Spa/Sauna access for high performance participants
  • Strength and Conditioning room

The state-of-the-art fitness facilities at MSAC will be free of charge for the convenience of all who attend and will be maximised for table tennis specific outcomes.

We understand that these are bold steps to which represent a significant change to some, but believe that it is necessary to achieve our strategic objectives in the Profile and Performance areas of maintaining Victoria’s status as Australia’s leading table tennis state.

Important to note that its compulsory for players to attend if they want to be selected for the State Squads.

Compulsory to attend one session a month for Seniors and two sessions a month for Juniors.

Please find below a brief run-down of the swim analysis lab, spa and sauna, strength and conditioning room:

Swim Analysis Lab:

The Swim Analysis Lab provides individuals with a video analysis of their stroke that will be utilised so you can actually see where your flaws lay. It’s very difficult to imagine what you look like in the water, so this is where this unique facility becomes a very valuable tool.

Spa and Sauna:

HP participants can utilise the spa and sauna to relax after a workout

Strength and Conditioning room:

The strength and conditioning room at MSAC allows individuals to undertake forms of exercise which emphasises on building the strength, size and endurance of the skeletal muscles. A huge benefit of strength and conditioning is that it will help in improving an individual’s overall health and well-being.

Strength and Conditioning programs are generally developed specifically to improve performance in athletic competition.

The purpose of the strength and conditioning room at MSAC is that it provides people with a room to do strength training from low intensity to high intensity.
