TTV helping workplaces promote team culture & wellbeing

Published Fri 03 Jun 2022

Table Tennis Victoria has launched a new partnership opportunity aimed at helping workplaces across Victoria focus on employee wellbeing and promoting a positive workplace culture.

The Table Tennis Victoria Workplace Partnership provides businesses with a table tennis table, bats and balls for them to use with their staff to encourage team bonding and incentivise employees to return to the office after two years of working from home.

Research from the Australian Bureau of Statistics released in May 2022 shows almost twice as many Australians worked from home more than once a week in April 2022 compared with before COVID-19 restrictions in March 2020.

This research also revealed that fewer Australians regularly exercised at a gym or played sports compared with March 2020, so Table Tennis Victoria are passionate about doing something to address this.

“Table Tennis is a fantastic sport for people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds and almost everyone has picked up a bat and had a hit at some stage in their life,” said Table Tennis Victoria Chief Executive Officer Gen Dohrmann.

“This research shows that re-engaging with staff and encouraging them to return to the office has been hard for employers, so we think adding an element of Table Tennis to the mix is the perfect motivation to assist with health and wellbeing and workplace culture.”

Also included in the Table Tennis Victoria Workplace Partnership, which has three different package options varying from $1000-$5000 relating to table requirements, is entry to the Table Tennis Victoria Corporate Cup.

The Corporate Cup will be held later this year at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre where workplaces can compete against other organisations across a fun-filled afternoon to be crowned the champion team.
