Table Tennis Victoria Announces New Female Leadership Duo
October 14, 2024
Table Tennis Victoria (TTV) is delighted to announce key changes to the office team, with a new female leadership duo at TTV.
After nine-months of parental leave, Gen Dohrmann will be returning to her role as CEO of TTV. Her return marks an exciting chapter for the organisation, as she re-engages with the community and continues her leadership at a pivotal time for table tennis in Victoria. Gen will be returning on a three-day-per-week basis, allowing her to balance family commitments and her dedication to the sport.
In a new initiative to bolster the leadership team, Jennifer Pitson will be joining as Chief Operating Officer (COO), sharing the role of leadership with Gen as part of a job split arrangement. Jennifer brings a wealth of experience to the role, with over 25 years of experience in the sports sector and a proven track record in strategy, commercial, participation, marketing and events.
Jennifer was most recently the General Manager of AFL Masters Vic Metro Football League, having also served as General Manager - Commercial & Development at Motorsport Australia and Sponsorship Manager at Bowls Australia. At both organisations, she was responsible for developing and implementing relevant strategic plans to achieve set commercial and participation outcomes. She will be working two days a week, ensuring a smooth and collaborative leadership model that aligns with TTV’s strategic vision.
Gen Dohrmann expressed her excitement about her return, stating: “I can’t wait to return to TTV, and I’m thrilled to be able to draw on Jennifer’s knowledge and create a new example of how females can work part-time in senior leadership roles in sport.”
Jennifer Pitson added: "As I step into this newly created role at Table Tennis Victoria, I'm excited to leverage my sport administration experience to support Gen and the Board in contributing to the growth of the sport. With TTV's centenary celebration on the horizon in 2025, we have a unique opportunity to reflect on the sport's rich history while propelling table tennis into a bright future. I look forward to working with Gen and the team, and all of the TTV clubs and key stakeholders to collectively drive the success and profile of the sport."
Andrew Weiss, who has been serving as interim CEO during Gen's absence, will be stepping down from the role. Over the past nine months, Andrew has led the organisation through a period of growth and transition. His efforts have been instrumental in ensuring TTV’s continued success, and we thank him for his invaluable contribution during this time.
Andrew Weiss commented on his departure: “It has been an absolute privilege to lead TTV over the past nine months. I am grateful for the opportunity and proud of what we have accomplished together. I wish Gen and Jen all the best as they take TTV to new heights.”
Table Tennis Victoria looks forward to this new chapter and remains committed to driving the sport forward with this fresh leadership structure. Gen will resume as TTV CEO on Monday 28 October and Jennifer will commence on Thursday 7 November.
Both Gen and Jennifer will be available for the upcoming TTV Affiliates Forum taking place on Thursday the 28th of November from 6-8 pm online. More details to come!
