Ritchie Hinton Signs New Contract Extension With TTV
Published Fri 20 Aug 2021
Table Tennis Victoria (TTV) is very pleased to announce that its Chief Executive Officer, Ritchie Hinton, has signed a contract extension that will see him continue to lead TTV through to 2025.
Ritchie started in his position in February 2019, and made an early impact on the organisation. He immediately played a leading role in the development and continued execution of TTV’s four year (2019-2022) Strategic Plan, ‘Our Future Now!’.
Recently, he has played a vital role in steering TTV through the COVID-19 pandemic, achieving strong financial outcomes at the same time as overseeing the growth of the TTV office from three to five staff with additional capability in media, marketing and competition administration.
“I’m delighted to continue my work with TTV into the future. We were really starting to make significant progress in several areas of our Strategic Plan when COVID-19 hit, and I’m keen to ensure that they are fully implemented as restrictions ease”, said Hinton.
“I am also keen to maintain the significant increase in TTV’s online presence and profile through on-going expansion and implementation of our digital strategy”.
Ritchie has been dedicated to the improvement of all areas of table tennis across Victoria, with highlights including re-booting TTV’s High Performance program, and working with the State Sports Centres Trust to expand and improve the facilities at MSAC.
Results have included contributing towards Victoria producing 75% of the Australian Olympic and Paralympic table tennis squad travelling to Tokyo, and an expanded set-up and tournament schedule at the iconic Albert Park location.
Other notable developments since his appointment have included developing the Primary School Cup competition in conjunction with School Sport Victoria, the roll out of TTV’s ‘EPIC TT’ Roadshow, and the Pulse Pub League concept.
Key commercial partnerships have also been inked with stakeholders such as S-Trend Sportswear, Pongo and AGMC Sports, as well as securing vital grant monies through Sport & Recreation Victoria, as well as VicHealth and the VIS.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the TTV Board and Staff for their continued commitment and hard work during these challenging times. In these unprecedented circumstances, their calm and productive contributions have been a great support to me,” expressed Hinton.
“I look forward to continuing to work with all stakeholders, as we look to super-charge and future-proof our sport in Victoria when we are able to proceed without restrictions.”
TTV Chair, Jack Cyngler, commented:
“As Chair, it is important to be able to have a good working relationship with your CEO, as is the case, so that collectively TTV can pursue and develop its strategic objectives.
On behalf of the Board, I wish to congratulate Ritchie on his contract renewal and his leadership in operational matters - well done, Ritchie.”
