Ping Pong Rush - a great way to attract new players!

Published Thu 07 Apr 2022

During the last week of March, TTV ran our first pilot session of our brand-new social ping pong competition, Ping Pong Rush and we absolutely loved it and so did the members and new players that came and gave it a go.

“It was lovely that it was just a fun hit of table tennis with just the right level of competitive spirit!”

“You wanted to try and move up tables but there was no unnecessary pressure on the game. It was also lovely having some more experienced players who were friendly and keen to give pointers to people like myself with less experience. All in all, a very fun night! I’d attend again and will mention it to other friends who would like a social hit of table tennis.” Said one of our first Ping Pong Rush attendees.

Rather than make this a regular staple at MSAC we think this format would be fantastic for clubs to use as a come and try session to engage with members of their community new to table tennis.

Your new players will get all the fun and none of the concern about committing to a longer season or coming in and trying to play against stronger competition which can be intimidating for new players.

How Ping Pong Rush works!
•    You play singles and doubles in a top table format
•    No need to bring a friend, the pairs are random. But who doesn’t love one upping their mates at ping pong so spread the word!
•    Just 1 hour of play, there’s plenty of time to stop at the pub on your way home
•    Win your game and move up a table, lose and move down a table

Because we think this would be great to utilise at a club level, we are seeking expressions of interest from Clubs that would like to find out more and run a Ping Pong Rush session of their own.

All the players really need to do is listen to the announcements which TTV will provide in an audio file, or you can make the announcements yourself by following the printout we can send you.
