Dandenong’s junior star, Parleen Kaur, has become the most recent player to be inducted into the Table Tennis Victoria Hall of Fame (Junior Division). Kaur’s excellent achievements were highlighted by TTV CEO, Ritchie Hinton during an announcement at the 2021 Victorian Open Junior Championships last Saturday at MSAC.
Parleen has been one of Victoria’s best junior players for a number of years now and boasts some fantastic achievements at a State, National and International level.
She was the Australian Under 15’s Singles Champion in 2017 and 2018, as well as the Australian Under 18’s Singles Champion in 2018 and 2019, she is a three time Victorian Under 18’s (2017-19) and Under 15’s Singles Champion (2016-18), claimed the Under 13’s Victorian Singles title in 2016 and has represented Australia at several World Junior Championships.
Impressively, Kaur was also awarded the 2020 Coburg Award as TTV’s Junior Female Player of the Year, making it the fourth consecutive year she has won the award.
She enters an impressive list in the junior division of the TTV Hall of Fame, joining names such as Bob Tucket, Jan, Kerri and Ross Tepper, Milly Tapper, Heming Hu, David Powell, Alois Rosario and many more talented juniors that have gone on to do great things in our sport.
Everyone at TTV continues to be impressed by Parleen’s achievements and we are eagerly waiting to see the great things she achieves as a senior player in the years to come.
“Parleen has been one of our most impressive young players for a few years now, and has set the benchmark for junior female talent in Australia. It’s great to be able to acknowledge her efforts, and to see her join many other talented players in the TTV Junior Hall of Fame” said TTV CEO, Ritchie Hinton.
“She should be extremely proud of her achievements as a junior player, we’re all looking forward to seeing her succeed as a senior and hopefully represent Australia on the biggest stage one day at the Olympics.”
At the Victorian Open Senior Championships on Sunday, Board Member Greg Bristowe also announced David Powell and Kyle Davis as new elevations into the TTV Hall of Fame (Senior Division).
“It’s a privilege to be elevated into the Hall of Fame. There are many players on that list that I have looked up to since I was young and aspired to be like. It is a great feeling to be able to reach that list" Said Powell.
