A $500-$750 Sport Australia grant opportunity is currently available to TTV members. The Local Sporting Champions program provides financial assistance for coaches, officials and competitors aged 12-18 participating in state, national or international championships.

This funding will primarily help TTV country members between the ages of 12-18 who live more than 125km away from MSAC and plan on finding accommodation in Melbourne during the Victorian State and Country Championships.

Members will need to meet the Sport Australia eligibility requirements which include:

• Be turning 12-18 years of age in the same calendar year as the nominated championships.
• Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident. Residing in Australia
• Be participating as an athlete, coach or match official in:

1. an official state or national championship endorsed by the relevant Sport Australia recognised NSO (Table Tennis Australia) or a School Sport Australia member body; or
2. an international competition as a member of an official Australian team, representing a Sport Australia recognised NSO or School Sport Australia.

• Those attending a state championship must be living more than 125km from the championships venue and travelling greater than 250km return to participate in the nominated championships.
• Must complete the application prior to the nominated championships commencing.
• Must Incur out-of-pocket expenses equal to, or greater than the grant amount they are eligible to receive.

We understand how tough it can be for TTV families with junior players who need to travel and find accommodation to compete, and we are hopeful many of our families in this situation will be able to access some assistance via this grant.
