Latest EPIC.TT Road Trip Results in Engaging Workshops with Regional Clubs
Published Thu 08 Sep 2022
Table Tennis Victoria’s Enhancement Program in Clubs for Table Tennis (EPIC.TT) was on the road again last month with Events and Clubs Officer Claire Montgomery embarking on her largest road trip so far around Regional Victoria.
The EPIC.TT program sees clubs around Victoria undergo a series of workshops designed to ensure they are operating at the highest professional level in regard to compliance with National, State and Local legislation and good governance practices.
Each Affiliate is awarded a badge when they become compliant with one of the aspects, and the number of badges dictates which level that club is at in the EPIC.TT system.
Claire began her most recent trip by travelling to Deniliquin to assist the club in becoming an Affiliate. She then went to Swan Hill, Mildura, Warracknabeal and Horsham.
“The one hour meeting I was meant to have with each club probably ended up going for 3-3.5 hours because the sessions produced some fantastic conversations,” said Montgomery.
“I think our EPIC trips are probably eye opening to a lot of clubs and we’re able to have discussions and unearth information they were unaware of, Swan Hill for example didn’t realise they used to take part in Country Championships and that they could.” She added.
Plenty of things are discussed throughout the workshop and clubs learn new things covering a range of areas from how to better utilise social media to promote their programs to the reasons why items such as Child Safe Policies are vital to keep up to date.
“Every topic we touched on, from policies to marketing and all the way to new ideas for programs and leagues was discussed with enthusiasm. It was absolutely fantastic to see the desire all of our clubs have to continue providing better environments and experiences for their members.” Said Claire.
Claire has two more trips to go for 2022, she will be making her way around to the regional clubs in Outer Gippsland and The Otways.
Having good governance practices and up to date policies is vital for all of our clubs around Victoria and TTV are thrilled to see so many clubs embracing the EPIC.TT program and engaging with Claire as she makes her way around the state.
