ITTF - Nominations for Committees

Please see below and attached for information relating to nominating for ITTF Committees.

If you wish to nominate, please complete the application form and return to me via email ceo@tabletennis.org.au by no later than 14 February 2019. All nominations will be considered by the TTA Board and if supported, will be submitted to ITTF.

Re: Nominations for Committees

 

Dear Presidents, Dear Secretaries General,

According to the ITTF Constitution, the Annual General Meeting, to be held in Budapest on 22nd April 2019, will appoint, on the recommendation of the Nominations Committee, the full and corresponding members for the following committees:

  • Equipment Committee (8 full members and 6 corresponding members)
  • Media Committee (8 full members and 6 corresponding members)
  • Para Table Tennis Committee (6 full members and 6 corresponding members)
  • Rules Committee (6 full members and 6 corresponding members)
  • Sports Science Committee (6 full members and 4 corresponding members)
  • Umpires & Referees Committee (8 full members and 6 corresponding members)
  • Veterans Committee (6 full members)

The Board of Directors, at their meeting on 24th April 2019, will appoint, on the recommendation of the Executive Committee, the Chairs of each Committee and, in addition, the two Deputy Chairs of the Umpires and Referees Committee.

In addition to these appointments based on nominations, as per the Terms of Reference of the different committees, these are complemented with additional members, including but not limited to ITTF staff and ITTF Executive Committee members.

Together with this letter, you will receive an official nomination form. Please note that nominations are only accepted when received from National Associations.

We would appreciate if you could take in to consideration the following notes.

  1. As per the ITTF Constitution, one of the ITTF Objectives is:

1.1.4.1.12 to encourage and to support the promotion of women in sport at all levels and to ensure significant representation of women in ITTF committees, commissions and working groups.

  1. Also, as per our Constitution, please note:

1.5.7.2.2 … at least 25% of the number of full members … shall be selected out of female nominees.

1.5.9.6 No person shall serve at the same time as a member of more than 1 permanent committee and no more than 4 such posts shall be occupied by members of one Association.

The deadline to submit your nominations is Thursday 28th February 2019.
