Four Victorian Associations Receive TTA's Equipment and Facilities Grant
Published Tue 04 Aug 2020
Table Tennis Australia have recently announced the Equipment and Facilities Grants Program recipients have been determined for 2020. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic situation affecting all affiliates, TTA received an equal record number of high quality applications from every State and Territory across the country.
Over $78,000 worth of equipment and facilities will now be injected into table tennis projects across 12 clubs/associations from 7 States/Territories. Pleasingly, a strong mix of regional and metropolitan applicants were successful. All successful applicants were able to demonstrate that their project will lead to an increase in participation, development of the sport, increased sustainability of the sport in their local area, clearly identify the benefits on offer, represent good value for money and generate a strong return on investment.
In Victoria we had four clubs who successfully applied for Equipment and Facilities Grants and we look forward to seeing the improvements these Clubs and Associations make at their venues.
Congratulations to the following applicants for 2020 (in alphabetical order):
- Bendigo and District Table Tennis Association (VIC) – Upgrading of stadium lighting
- Coburg Table Tennis Association (VIC) – Purchase of wheelchair friendly table tennis tables
- Horsham Table Tennis Association (VIC) – Replace heating system at the venue
- Sunshine and District Table Tennis Association (VIC) – Replacement of barriers
This is the third year the TTA Equipment and Facilities Grant Program has been implemented. Inclusive of the abovementioned grants, the program has generated nearly $230,000 of equipment and facilities into 41 clubs/associations across all States/Territories. This aligns with the TTA Strategic Plan, where TTA has a KPI of delivering $500,000 worth of equipment and facilities by 2022.
TTA is delighted with the response to the program once again this year and TTA look forward to growing the program further and supporting more local initiatives in 2021 and beyond. Congratulations again to all successful applicants.
