Message from the TTV Chair, Jack Cyngler 21 December 2018
To all Affiliates and Members,
Firstly, I would like to wish all affiliates and members all the best for the festive season and a happy healthy and prosperous New Year.
Since taking over the role as chair of TTV approximately six months ago, I have learnt much about the administration of Table Tennis, essentially by speaking to you, the Affiliates, the members, parents, sponsors and strategic partners including TTA.
Whilst Table Tennis in Victoria, and Table Tennis in general has its challenges, I believe that we are a good position to move the sport forward.
Looking back on the past six months, the program has been full with various tournaments for juniors, seniors and veterans. I was lucky enough to attend the Australian open in Geelong, the National Junior Championships in Townsville, the National Vets Championships in Bendigo and the National Senior Championships in Mornington, to name a few. All great events and hats off to all the affiliates who take on the difficult yet rewarding task of running tournaments. The National Vets Championships in Bendigo, in particular, was an amazing event and well done to everyone involved.
TTV is embarking on a new three-year strategic plan commencing 2019 with the assistance of McLaughlin Sports Consultancy. There will be more information about this to follow. What I can say is that we are committed to increasing our membership and participation in the sport. We wish to develop our high-performance programs and create pathways for those players aiming to be elite. We also want to engage with all our affiliate's, key stakeholders and community groups so we can grow the sport.
I wish to thank my fellow board members, all the volunteers on the various committees for all your input and dedication and of course our dedicated staff led by Dennis Makaling, our CEO.
I look forward to seeing and engaging with you in 2019.
