COVID 19 update - planned easing of restrictions

Published Wed 27 Oct 2021

TTV is monitoring the situation regarding COVID-19 and its impact on our Affiliates and Individual Members.

We are aware that a further easing of restrictions is planned to take effect from 6pm on Friday 29 October 2021, with Regional Victoria and Metro Melbourne falling under the same restrictions.

Sport & Recreation Victoria have advised that a revised Open Premises Directions (OPD) document is unlikely to be available until very shortly before their implementation.

Given the anticipated timing of the OPD release, the usual need for subsequent clarification and the impending long holiday weekend, TTV is therefore unlikely to be able to provide a detailed update until Wed 3 November 2021.

To be clear, the process throughout the pandemic has been for DHHS to publish the legal instrument at the exact moment of its implementation. This is usually followed by a 24-72 hour period during which SRV (assisted by VicSport) collate all feedback from SSO’s such as TTV, and seek clarification from DHHS on any points of ambiguity of which there are usually many. Wed 3 November has been flagged as the likely date for further TTV clarification to be available, given the likely delay caused by staffing absences at DHHS, SRV and VicSport over the long weekend.

We will, of course, make any announcements as soon as possible.

In the meantime, please refer to the current TTV advice in place:

Please note that you do not need to wait for TTV’s guidance note to be published before returning to play – we provide such guidance on an FYI basis, and all Affiliates are able to be make independent decisions based on their understanding of the regulations, though caution is advised.
