Changes to Victorian COVID-19 Restrictions 10 June
Published Thu 10 Jun 2021
Restrictions across Victoria are easing at 11:59pm tonight (Thursday 10 June), following the announcement from the Acting Premier and State Government.
For a full breakdown of changes, please view the updated table of restrictions and read the Acting Premier’s statement.
We have been updated by SRV and VicSport today regarding the changes relevant to community sport, and can now provide the following specific update regarding table tennis activity:
Regional Victoria:
Indoor physical recreation and community sport is open for all ages, training, and competition.
However, we are advised that the following restrictions and rules apply to table tennis:
- Density quotient of 1 person per 4sqm of usable space
- No more than 50 people indoors (venue capacity can be expanded to 150 if outdoor areas are available).
- Cannot travel to metropolitan Melbourne for community sport.
- Masks must be carried at all times and worn indoors at all times when not playing
In summary, regional Table Tennis clubs can open to a maximum of 50 people, subject to an overall venue capacity cap. Clubs in shared facilities should check with the venue operator. Toilets can be accessed, but not change rooms (unless for the purpose of accessing a toilet).
Metropolitan Melbourne:
Indoor physical recreation and community sport in metropolitan Melbourne remain closed.
Indoor community sport in metropolitan Melbourne remains closed but training can be resumed outdoors within the 25km travel limit from your primary place of residence.
TTV and TTA events
Regarding TTV & TTA events (including Nationals), at this stage no events have been cancelled, we will continue to monitor the situation regarding travel between metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria and how this affects upcoming events and update members as soon as possible regarding any changes.
The TTV Country and Metro Championships have been postponed, details here.
We will make an announcement soon regarding dates for the second season of the TTV Premier League.
Please continue following the rules and restrictions outlined above and in the table of restrictions.
A list and map of outdoor table tennis tables in Victoria can be found here.
IF ANY CHANGES ARE MADE TO THESE RULES AS EXPLAINED TO US, WE WILL ADVISE IMMEDIATELY
