The entire squad deserves commendation for their relentless dedication and remarkable efforts, but a few athletes stood out for their medal-winning performances.

Medallists: A Golden Generation

Sam Von Einem (SA) once again proved why he is considered one of Australia’s finest Paralympic athletes. With his powerful strokes and tactical brilliance, Sam battled through the competition, eventually reaching the semifinals and delivering a performance that earned widespread praise.

Qian Yang added to Australia’s medal tally with a stunning gold medal performance. Competing in the women’s Class 10 singles and WD20 doubles, she showed impeccable precision and consistency throughout the tournament, defeating top-ranked opponents to clinch the top spot on the podium twice! Yang’s victories not only highlighted her world-class abilities but also established her as one of the dominant players in international Paralympic table tennis.

His agility, quick reflexes, and tactical mind were on full display as he outmanoeuvred some of the world’s best players to secure his place on the podium.

Lina Lei added to her already impressive list of accolades with a brilliant bronze medal finish, along with a gold in the doubles with Qian. Competing in the women’s singles, Lei’s experience and composure under pressure were evident as she powered through to the semifinals and earned her spot among the world’s elite once again.
