Published Wed 06 Dec 2023
Table Tennis Victoria (TTV) is delighted to announce that Andrew Weiss will assume the role of Interim CEO when Gen Dohrmann takes parental leave in 2024.
Andrew has been a dedicated member of the TTV Board for the past three years and has also worked in partnership with Table Tennis Australia for the last decade as Managing Director of My Sport Live who stream several annual table tennis events. The TTV Board is confident that Andrew’s knowledge of table tennis along with his previous experience leading a State Sporting Organisation make him an excellent choice to fill the position.
With four years' experience as CEO of Motorcycling Victoria, as well as Operations and Communications roles with Motorcycling Australia, Andrew has a good understanding of the challenges of leading a finitely resourced sport and the value of collaboration with national and state and territory counterparts.
Andrew established My Sport Live in 2013 and has partnered with a wide range of national and state sporting organisations to broadcast thousands of events across a wide range of different sports. Andrew’s sporting connections and expertise in sport media and marketing will provide unique opportunities for TTV to maximise exposure.
Andrew is excited to get started in the new role in late January 2024:
“I’m really looking forward to taking on the Interim CEO role in 2024, and continuing to progress the wonderful work that Gen, the TTV Board, the staff and the whole TTV community have been implementing,” said Andrew.
“I have really enjoyed being part of the table tennis community through my time on the board and streaming events since 2013, and love the people and passion that drives the sport at all levels.
“There is a lot of work to be done and I can’t wait to get stuck in at an operational level to help steer TTV along the positive path that it has been heading in over the past few years.”
TTV CEO Gen has already started working with Andrew on the transition into the role and thinks he will be a great asset to the organisation.
“Andrew’s passion for table tennis has shown through loud and clear during his time as a TTV Board Member and I’m very excited to see him deliver the majority of our TTV business operations in 2024 while I take on my next challenge of becoming a mum,” said Gen.
“I’m particularly excited to see creative and exciting ways that Andrew will lead the team to increase interest in table tennis with the Paris Olympics and Paralympics.”
Andrew is due to commence as Table Tennis Victoria Interim CEO on Monday 29 January 2024 with Gen finishing on Thursday 25 January to take nine months of parental leave.
He will remain in his role as Managing Director of My Sport Live throughout this time, overseeing the company’s continued contribution to the sporting industry.
