A Successful Start in Ballarat for TTV's EPIC.TT Road Trip!

TTV’s Enhancement Program in Clubs for Table Tennis or “EPIC.TT” Road Trip started off in Ballarat on Tuesday night with fantastic success.
TTV’s Events & Clubs Officer, Claire Montgomery, and Participation and Programs Officer, Sean Sturrock, travelled up to Ballarat to have the very first in-person session with the committee of the Ballarat Table Tennis Association. The group discussed all things governance and the importance of ensuring all of the behind-the-scenes requirements of running a table tennis club are optimised.
“It was a privilege for us to have the meeting with the Ballarat TTA committee last night to run the first face to face EPIC.TT workshop,” said TTV ECO, Claire Montgomery.
“Right from the start Sean and I felt very welcomed – the club even turned on the heaters for us, so we were nice and warm up there!
“Once we got started the Ballarat Committee were very engaged with the process, jumping in with really good questions which sparked excellent collaborative discussions.
“From where I was standing, there weren’t any glazed eyes or blank looks of incomprehension, just eager faces taking in all the information, so we feel it was a huge success!”
The EPIC.TT program works with committees to help upskill TTV Clubs and Associations in legislative compliance such as child safety policies, as well as good governance, board operations and role responsibilities, inclusion policies, guidelines, and tournament management systems.
TTV’s goal is to work with each of our Affiliates to ensure every area of Victoria has a safe, successful, and inclusive table tennis Club/Association running to the best of its abilities. Another vital benefit of our EPIC.TT workshops is opening up a better line of communication between Affiliates and TTV.
Following COVID-19 altering the initial rollout of this program, it is great to see the face-to-face sessions starting out successfully in Ballarat.
“Claire and Sean conducted an EPIC meeting last night with our committee at the Ballarat Table Tennis Centre. They provided a good overview of governance and discussed how to operate as a club with the assistance of Table Tennis Victoria,” said Ballarat President, Kelvin Putt.
“It prompted discussions at our meeting after EPIC on how we may improve our club. We definitely recommend an EPIC workshop for every club.”
The EPIC.TT road trip continues next week with Claire and Sean making their way around North Eastern Victoria, meeting with Bendigo, Wangaratta, Yarrawonga and Shepparton.
TTV’s CEO, Ritchie Hinton thrilled with the success of the first face-to-face workshop said: “Helping our clubs be the best they can be through addressing their pain-points and assisting them with advice on how to stream-line their processes and stay on top of their legislative obligations is a key focus of TTV.”
