2024 Ballarat Open Review
Published Tue 02 Jul 2024
The 2024 Ballarat Open took place over the last two weeks and it was a great competition for all who took part.
Beginning on June 22nd, the Senior Open took place first with some notable stars in the building ready to compete. June 23rd hosted the Junior Open with some great matches taking place throughout. Finally, June 30th saw the Veterans take it to the tables to compete.
BTTA Stadium Manager Adam Pegg was incredibly pleased with the success of the tournament stating, "Over the past couple of weekends, we have had the privilege to host some of Victorians best Senior, Junior and Veterans players during our 3 tournaments.”
“Whilst numbers were down for the Open tournament both the Junior and Veteran's events were well attended and provided for a lot of very high-quality table tennis.”
“With so many amazing winners across the tournaments some of the highlights included 2024 Paris Olympian Finn Luu winning the Men's Open and Australian national squad member Cherry Li taking out the Women's event.”
“The junior events certainly didn't fail to impress either with some amazingly tight battles for the Ballarat Open titles and in the Veterans, David Segal played for close to 3 hours straight to bring home 3 titles and a runner up from 4 events" added Pegg.
