Albury/Wodonga Open Preview

The 2024 Albury/Wodonga Junior/Senior Open is taking place this weekend, the Senior Open this Saturday May 18th, and the Junior Open on May 19th. AWTTA is looking forward to hosting 50 Senior competitors and 70 Junior competitors on May 18 & 19.
In the Senior tournament some exciting entries to watch include Zac Anstey & Raymond Myrteza. In the Junior tournament some notable entries include Ivana Chen, Samuel & Louis Liu, Coral & Cohen Zhao who are all the children of Olympians. Additionally, Kavyaa Madaan will be looking to lead the female category with Levi Geering aiming to win his home tournament.
AWTTA Club President Terry Caldwell expressed his excitement for the event stating, “we are particularly pleased to see the number of Junior entrants is up about 20%.”
“The canteen will be operating on both days with a selection of sandwiches, rolls, wraps, burgers, pies, sausage rolls, plated meals, dessert slices and fruit available. There will also be drinks and confectionery for those who need their sugar fix. Tea and coffee will be available, free of charge.”
“AWTTA will for the first time being transferring funds to prize winners, as done at other tournaments.”
“Consider our sponsors when chasing meals and accommodation, particularly the Commercial Club Albury and Seaton Arms Hotel. Maybe organise a group dinner at the Sportsmen’s Bar in the Commercial Club.”
“The club will be open for a warm-up from an hour before the first event” added Terry.
