2023 Geelong Open preview

We could not be more excited to see tournament table tennis return in 2023 with the Geelong Open Championships kicking us off this weekend at the Geelong Table Tennis Centre Feb 11-12.
The Veterans will kick off proceedings with plenty of players from the 2021 top ranked vets taking part. Simon Johnson enters as one of the top players and will start his day with the O/40 Men’s Singles at 9am.
The likes of Jeff Dever, Igor Klaff, Vicki Carruthers, Belinda Strong and plenty more will be sure to provide some great vets matches.

On Sunday, the Juniors and Seniors will hit the tables with plenty of talent making the trip to Geelong to ensure a brilliant tournament. With over 190 entries, it's set to be the biggest tournament in over 25 years.
One of last years most dominant players is returning with Hasali Buddhadasa looking to add more titles to their impressive 2022 results.
A notable entrant with Para National Team Captain Nathan Pellisier who will be eager to show off his skills in the seniors on Sunday.
Connie Psihogios, Lucas Lum, Cherry Le, and a number of other great young players will be battling it out for the junior titles.

“It’s extremely exciting to see such great numbers for the first tournament on the TTV state calendar,” Said Geelong Table Tennis Secretary Phillip Carruthers.
“It's going to be the largest state series tournament since the 1980's".
“With free entry to view the tournament, we are keen to see as many spectators and future players as possible".
