2021 TTA National Championships Update
Published Sat 19 Jun 2021
From TTA:
TTA are looking forward to hosting the 2021 National Senior, Youth, Junior & Para Championships at Caloundra Indoors Stadium from 2-11 July. We have been receiving a some enquiries in recent days, and the below update is aimed at providing clarity on some key areas for participants:
Will the event be cancelled?
TTA has no intention of cancelling the event. We are aware there are COVID-19 border restrictions in place for people from Greater Melbourne. We are also aware that there have been some recent COVID-19 cases in Sydney and there was a case today in Canberra.
If 1-2 States/Territories are prohibited from entering Queensland, TTA will still host the event wherever practicable.
Everyone understands that the situation can change quickly, however to reiterate, TTA has no intention of cancelling the event.
When will the competition draws be released?
The Event Prospectus states that the competition draws will be released by no later than 28 June.
We are still aiming for this deadline to be met, however this may be delayed if any States/Territories are prohibited from entering Queensland as this will mean the competition draws need to be redone.
Where can I get more information on the requirements for entering Queensland?
The Queensland Government has an informative COVID-19 website, which can be viewed at: https://www.qld.gov.au/health/conditions/health-alerts/coronavirus-covid-19/current-status/public-health-directions/travelling-to-queensland
We recommend that you familiarise yourself with the requirements.
When will more information be provided in relation to the event?
TTA will provide updates when any news arises. Participants should work on the assumption that no news being provided is a good outcome. Rest assured that if there are any developments we will keep you informed immediately.
