2021 Ballarat Veterans Open Championships Update
Published Wed 16 Jun 2021
Following today’s announcement from the Acting Premier and Victorian State Government, we are pleased to confirm that the 2021 Ballarat Veterans Open Championships will go ahead as planned on Sunday June 27 at the Ballarat Table Tennis Centre.
As of 11:59pm Thursday June 17, the 25km limit for metropolitan Melbourne and the travel restrictions between regional Victoria and metropolitan Melbourne will be lifted, allowing metro members the freedom to travel to the event.
The other relevant change is the increase of the maximum venue capacity to 300 people per indoor space for regional Victoria. Masks will still be required indoors while you are not playing and recommended outside when social distancing is not possible.
If you have entered and are planning to play in the tournament and you display any COVID-19 symptoms, please be safe, get tested and follow the required guidelines prior to attending to the event.
The entry deadline for the event has also been extended to Thursday June 17. If you were hesitant to enter until travel restrictions were lifted, get your entries in now and join the fun in Ballarat.
You can view the Acting Premier’s full statement here and the full Table of Restrictions here.
TTV are continuing to monitor the situation and we will confirm details on other aspects of table tennis activity such as pennant, the Premier League and Nationals once the information is available to us.
As always, please stay safe and continue following the required restrictions.
