Phillip was invited to join the TTV Board in 2001 and shortly after was appointed to the vacant President/Chairman position. He remained President until he resigned in December 2014. Phillip’s years as President featured a focus on good governance, with strong financial performance resulting from the appointment of a skills-based Finance and Audit Committee. A focus on gender equality was also apparent with the appointment of both member and independent female directors with experience in elite sport management and across our sport. The dominance of Victorian teams at Junior, Senior and Veteran levels also characterised the period. Phillip said ‘I was lucky to have the support of an exceptionally committed group of board members and volunteers as well as gifted CEO’s and staff throughout my time at TTV’. Phillip continues to serve table tennis at the local level through the Geelong club.
