Fair Play Code
Fair Play Code
In 2018, the Victorian Government released the Fair Play Code – a code of conduct for sport and recreation in Victoria that outlines the standards of behaviour expected for everyone involved in sport and recreation.
Table Tennis Victoria has adopted this code in full (see attached code below).
Table Tennis Victoria encourages our member clubs, their administrators, and registered players to be aware of the code of conduct and operate under the code.
There are some great resources located on the Sport & Recreation website to access and promote throughout your venue , website or social media.
Table Tennis Victoria strongly encourages everyone to check out the Play By The Rules website which also contains a number of useful guidelines and templates.
Steps to acheive the EPIC.TT "FPC Badge"
Step 1:
Download the Fair Play Code below and make sure each of your committee members has a copy (or knows where to download it from)
Download the Fair Play Code Self Assessment Toolkit
Step 2:
Have a committee meeting and at the meeting follow these steps:
- Read through the Code with your committee so that everyone understands it
- Discuss with your committee if you feel that your Club/Association is operating within the Code and if there are any areas that need improving - Use the FPC Self Assessment toolkit (link above) to guide your discussions
- If your Club/Association feels that there are areas for improvement - start by referring to your MPIO
Step 3:
Fill out the Fair Play Code for TENANTS document (attached below) and submit it to your local council to show that you are a Fair Play Code Club. This will help your relationship with your local council as these types of commitments are needed when applying for funding from the State Government.
Step 4:
Publish the Code on your website and around the club - we suggest getting pages 4 and 5 printed in colour A3 and putting them up on the walls.
Step 5:
Notify the TTV office that your Club/Association has completed the above steps
Step 6:
Add to your committee meeting agenda Fair Play Code and touch on the topic each meeting to ensure that your Club/Association is abiding by the Code. This is the best way to ensure an ongoing culture of fairness and respect and where there is a regular 'spot check' on any issues that could have arisen.
